This post isn’t exactly ‘recent’. I purchased a stack of books when I was on holidays down south, back at the begining of November. And, being my usual lazy self, I never got around to posting about it (Or the books I read while down south) until now. Mid December. Well… at least I’m consistent with my laziness =)
So, here’s a lovely list of the 10 or so books I managed to buy in the space of about 5 days… all for ridiculous prices. Yay!
So, first book I purchased was “Obsidian Butterfly” by Laurell K. Hamilton- for $2 from an op shop. The books not in the best condition- the spine is seriously cracked, the cover has seen better days, the pages are yellowing. But the words are readable, and the condition of the book tells me that it was seriously well read, which indicates it used to belong to a book lover. So why should I complain?
Then, I hit another second hand store, where I picked up ‘Edge of Danger’ and ‘Edge of Hunger’, both by Rhyannon Byrd, for $2 each. Both in seriously good condition- they look brand new. Possibly not even read. So I was happy with that.
After this, I found a lovely book sale in an actual book store, 5 books for $15. Which lead to me purchasing:
– The Devlin Diary, by Christi Phillips
– Every Demon has his day, by Cara Lockwood
– The Sweet Far Thing, By Libba Bray
– Vampire Sunrise, by Carole Nelson Douglas
– Demon Inside, by Stacia Kane.
Yeah, they are all paranormal romances bar the first one, which is historical fiction. Something I’ve started to become slightly obessed with, thanks to one of the books I ended up reading while on holidays.
Lastly, I found yet another book store, and another book sale- 3 books for $15. All the books I picked up, I realised happened to be book #1 in their respective series. Which is seriously helpful, as I hate buying a book and finding it’s like book #4 or #8 in the series, and I have no idea whats happening, who the characters are, or even if I’m gonna be able to figure out whats happening before it ends. These books were:
– Moon Called, by Patricia Briggs
– Dark Prince, by Christine Feehan
– Kitty and the Midnight Hour, by Carrie Vaughn
So that was my fabulous book buying-ness back in November. Given it’s mid December, we all know that there will be another one of these posts in a few weeks time, explaining the books I get given over my Birthday/Christmas period (9 days seperate the two of them, so it ends up being quite the book-haul usually.)
