Book #: Book 6 in the Guardians of Eternity series

Book description:
Salvatore Giuliani is not a happy werewolf. It’s his duty as leader to track down the pure-blood females who can keep his people from extinction. But the moment he catches scent of Harley, a pure-blood held by a pack of mangy curs, his savage need for her obliterates all other instincts. And the only thing worse than being captured is finding that beautiful, independent Harley defiantly refuses to become his mate.

Harley has been taught to distrust all Weres, especially their arrogant king. She won’t be used for breeding or bonded against her will, not even to a man who makes every nerve tingle with awareness. Yet Salvatore is her key to saving the family she never knew she had—if she dares to succumb to his dark, predatory desire, and face a vicious enemy sworn to destroy them both. . .

My review:
I’m finding myself enjoying this series, even if some of the stories are a bit predictable. This one wasn’t as predictable as previous ones, the characters were pretty good and the story was engaging- although it was concerning when the happy ending had occurred, the bad guy had been vanquished, and there was still 60 pages left of the story- I was in constant fear that something bad was gonna happen. Instead, some really interesting things were brought up and I’m really intrigued as to how this will all play out in the future books.

Harley and Salvatore are another good match as a couple, Harley is another Darcy twin and she, in true Darcy-twin form, is stubborn and fearless. Salvatore we know from previous books and it was good to see he finally finds his mate, and the he went from being a bit of a dick in Darcy’s book, to a sweet guy in this book. I’m also enjoying that past characters are featuring heavily in these books, Abby and Dante come back as the evil Abby dealt with in book one has resurfaced in a new way, which ties the whole story in nicely with those vents (as I had started to think to myself, what had been the point of the big bad evil darkness that was threatening to end the world in book 1 that we haven’t heard of since then?).

So I’m really starting to get exicited for the future books, wondering how everything that was in those final 60 pages of this book will influence future events- will there be an evil sister? Will there be some epic showdown? Will there be a dividing of the sisters, 2 with their vampire mates and 2 with maybe werewolf mates?

Final review:
