Book #: Book 15, final book in the Morganville Vampires series
Something drastic has happened in Morganville while Claire and her friends were away. The town looks cleaner and happier than they’ve ever seen it before, but when their incoming group is arrested and separated—vampires from humans—they realize that the changes definitely aren’t for the better.
It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they’ve never had: hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation—even for the vampires themselves—the truth is far more sinister and deadly.
Now, Claire, Shane and Eve need to find a way to break their friends out of Daylighter custody, before the vampires of Morganville meet their untimely end…
Okay, so the final book wasn’t bad. It wasn’t fantastic, but it wasn’t bad. The latest enemy is human fanatics trying to cleanse the world of vampires, and they suck. Claire and her crew are outcasts in the city because they are vampire sympathisers, and as per usual, they end up fighting and running and someone ends up in jail. It was the usual action-packed adventure, but I didn’t really enjoy the ending. I liked what happened with the vampires and how they defeat the Daylight Foundation, but I hated the very ending, the sudden wedding, and not just that, but a friggin double wedding. I mean, yuck. Seriously. I’d have been happier if they just left it off with the suggestion that they would get married, later. But no.
All in all, it tied up the entire series nicely, but to be completely honest, I am not really a big fan of this new Morganville future – I actually prefer the way it was back in book 1. I think had I read this book series as it was released, I may have enjoyed the final few books a bit more, but having read them one after the other, I at this point am rather sick of the series and the characters- I still like the series, but some of the characters are just starting to get on my nerves, and some of the things they do are so annoying, it’s like “my god, didn’t you have this fight in the last book? come on already, get over it”.
Even with that negative feeling, I still loved this series, and I am glad I finished it. It was highly enjoyable, not a single book was dull to read, the characters were well developed and they grew with the series, especially Claire, and they were also very memorable. I think Myrnin is my favourite out of the series, I will miss reading about his fanged bunny slippers and horrible fashion choices- they made me giggle.

Would I re-read it? Yes, to both this book and this entire series
