Book #: Book 10 in the Stephanie Plum series
Stephanie Plum and her partner, Lula, are clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. A robbery leads to an explosion, which leads to the destruction of yet another car. It would be just another day in the life of Stephanie Plum…except that she becomes the target of a gang. And the target of an even scarier, more dangerous force that comes to Trenton. With super bounty hunter Ranger acting more mysteriously than ever (and the tension with vice cop Joe Morelli getting hotter), Stephanie is racing against the clock in her most suspenseful novel yet.
It’s been a few books since I last picked up this series, but it was easy to jump right back into the mayhem that is the world of Stephanie Plum. I giggled a lot through this book, as usual, and it was a page-turner that had me reading long through the day and late into the night.
I like that Steph finds a place that Ranger stays at (not the Bat Cave, but close) and stays there while the gangs are hunting her down. I’m especially intrigued by this fantastic bodywash that Ranger uses and really want to hit a department store to see if I can find it and see what it smells like. It’s mentioned a lot in this book, how fantastic this body wash (and in turn, Ranger) smells…. so now I’m very curious. I think a shopping trip is in order, in the name of serious book research. Yup.
Ten Big Ones rating: 9/10. Damn solid book.
Would I re-read it? I’ve yet to come across a bad book in this series, I definitely would read this one again. They are fun light easy reads, and I do chuckle throughout them all.
Who would I recommend it to? Fans of cosy mysteries with humour and some really wacky characters.
