Book description:
He comes to her more dead than alive, a towering black-clad stranger riddled with bullets and rapidly losing blood. As she struggles to save him, veterinarian Tess Culver is unaware that the man calling himself Dante is no man at all, but one of the Breed, vampire warriors engaged in a desperate battle. In a single erotically charged moment Tess is plunged into his world–a shifting, shadowed place where bands of Rogue vampires stalk the night, cutting a swath of terror.
Haunted by visions of a dark future, Dante lives and fights like there is no tomorrow. Tess is a complication he does not need–but now, with his brethren under attack, he must shield Tess from a growing threat that includes Dante himself. For with one reckless, irresistible kiss, she has become an inextricable part of his underworld realm…and his touch awakens her to hidden gifts, desires, and hungers she never knew she possessed. Bonded by blood, Dante and Tess must work together to thwart deadly enemies, even as they discover a passion that transcends the boundaries of life itself….

My review:
This book was better than the first, by far. Dante is the dark brooding bad boy type that I adore, so I was on board 100% with this story. Tess is a sweet girl, able to heal but unwilling to use that power, and in love with animals of all kinds. So it’s an interesting match, but it works- it really works. They are delicious together, and I think she is the one who starts to make this band of warriors from a group to a family, you can see it progressing through the book, now that every character is established and we know their circumstances. There was an interesting sub-story with Archer, a Dark-Haven’s agent who is working with the warriors to try and bring this lethal drug off the streets and to bring back bugged-out breed youths back to the Haven before they turn rogue. His story with the woman he loves-his brother’s widow- that I thought had some real interesting promise, especially when I noticed the connection between her and Tegan (is she to turn up in the next book? What about Archer?)

Soo… I shall hunt down and read the next book of this series to see what’s gonna happen next. Very happy with Dante’s story though, it was really good.

Final review:
Kiss of Crimson rating:
7.5/10. Really good. Enjoyed the story a lot, like the progress of the characters and their stories.
Would I re-read it? Definitely. I need to add this series to the books I must buy in paperback form to grace my future library.
Who would I recommend it to? Fans of the series. Fans of paranormal romance stories featuring vampires. It reminds me a lot of the Black Dagger Brotherhood stories (and other similar series) so if you are a fan of that, then this might be a nice side-read for you (although not as awesome as the BDB).
